My Choice, My Control, My Future: DisabilityCare Australia Conference

The conference will provide a forum for people to share their unique experiences with disability, find out about the DisabilityCare, how it will work and how governments will help people and service providers transition to this new system of support. RIDBC welcomes the Australian Hearing Hub

ridbc2The Australian Hearing Hub at Macquarie University has officially opened. An initiative of Macquarie University, the Hub brings RIDBC together with the country's best hearing and allied health organisations. The Hub is a world first independent research facility inspired by the interdisciplinary working environment of the University. It offers state-of-the-art facilities to more than 2000 professionals from some of the country's best hearing and allied health organisations, together with staff, students and researchers from Macquarie and other leading research universities. Discussion evening: What is happening with children with disability – care & education?

Wednesday 12th June, 2013. Melton Specialist School, Victoria, Australia. CDA provides a link between the direct experiences of children and young people with disability to federal government and other key stakeholders. This link is viewed as essential for the creation of a true appreciation of the experiences and challenges that make up the lives of children and young people with disability and their families. CDA strives to ensure that all policy relating to children and young people is informed by direct experience and your input into our work is essential. Invitation from Independence Australia!

Inedep_oz2Independence Australia would like to invite you to ‘Celebrate Independence’ on Thursday 4 July at Rydges Bell City Preston, Melbourne. The day will run from 11am – 2pm and you can come for the whole day or just part of it. There will be free information & workshops on attendant care, case management, recreation, training, health products, equipment, travel plus free massages and manicures. Tea, coffee & refreshments will be available throughout the day.

 

Who should attend? people with a disability, families & carers, case management agencies, allied health professionals. Presentations include: promoting wellbeing and mindfulness, diet & nutrition, boccia demonstration, travellers aid and improving decision making.
