Imagining Social Equity conference – 28/2/13-1/3/13 in Melbourne

While social equity as a concept may be difficult to pin down, it provides a starting point for researchers from different disciplines to examine what they perceive as unjust or unfair social practices and to come up with options to redress them.

This inaugural conference offers policymakers, non-governmental organisations and researchers from different disciplines the opportunity to work together to explore what social equity means and to investigate ways of ameliorating disadvantage.

The conference will be accompanied by events open to the public aimed at engaging debate on social equity issues. More information here.

Australasian Ethics Network Conference, November 2013, Freemantle WA

As the leading event of its kind in Australasia, this conference will bring together a diverse range of delegates including HREC members, ethics administrators and researchers to explore ethical and administrative aspects of human research ethics.

This year's conference will also include a pre-conference workshop, coordinated by Prof Colin Thomson, and tailored specifically to both new and continuing HREC members. More here.

Bloody good fun – and they can’t arrest you for it! (- in Australia)

THE STAMPEDE is Australia's leading obstacle course event series and it's charging around Australia in 2013. Run wild through an epic 5km or 10km obstacle course focused on fun that will push you to the limit. Inch your way through thick mud, climb cargo nets, speed down our mega slip & slide and dash through live wires charged with 10,000 volts before washing it all down with a cold beer.

It's challenging, rewarding and bloody good fun for all fitness levels! Rally together mates, family, colleagues, sporting groups and training buddies to let loose and run wild for one crazy, fun day!

This year we are launching THE Junior STAMPEDE for kids aged 7-14! Junior Stampeders will take on an awesome 1-2km Stampede, with 10 kid-friendly obstacles designed for kids! THE Junior STAMPEDE will be held at THE STAMPEDE Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane events in 2013, and in Adelaide in 2014, at set times throughout the day.
