1st announcement / call for papers: 7th International Conference on Paediatric Palliative Care, Cardiff, UK, 2015

icpcn_thumb150_Medicine and Compassion: Tool for the Task... Or Dangerous Distraction? This is the theme of this year's conference which will explore the relationship between cure and care; whether the emphasis on one must inevitably risk sacrificing the other, and whether compassion and scientific research are necessarily in tension in caring for dying children.

Research abstracts or workshop proposals are welcomed on any aspect of palliative care in children and from any professional discipline: nurses, doctors, therapists and theologians, scientists and psychologists, epidemiologists and ethicists.

Deadline for abstracts is 1/2/2015

14th World Congress of the European Association for Palliative Care - EAPC 2015

eapc2From the organisers: It is a pleasure to welcome you to the 14th World Congress of the EAPC in Copenhagen, May 8-10, 2015. Palliative Care practice is complex and challenging and its success depends on building bridges between different professional and non-professional groups, disciplines, countries, regions and continents.

We seek to bring together the best caregivers, clinicians, researchers and educators in the field of palliative care along with the best opportunities to meet friends, colleagues and experts and gain new ideas and insights on how to improve care for patients and their families.

I am sure that Copenhagen in May will host the 14th World Congress of the EAPC in the most enchanting way with its mixture of old maritime charm and network of parks, public squares and green spaces.
