Promoting health in Illinois, US, for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD)

The HealthMatters, Illinois! is a health promotion initiative aimed at improving health and health promotion of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) throughout the state of Illinois.

HealthMatters Program Team at the University of Illinois at Chicago has partnered with Illinois Disability and Health Program at the Illinois Department of Public Health to assist provider organizations with promoting healthy lifestyles to people with I/DD.

Young Child Expo & Conference in October, 2015 in Spokane, Washington, US

spokane2The Young Child Expo & Conference began in 2003 as a joint professional development project of Fordham University's Graduate School of Education and Los Niños Services. Our goal is simple – to provide useful information to professionals and parents in order to help all young children learn, grow and reach their full potential.

We aim to bring everyone who works with young children together to learn and grow: teachers, psychologists, special education teachers, social workers, physical, occupational and speech therapists, pediatricians, nurses, educators, academics and students.

Join us at our first Young Child Expo & Conference on October 1st and 2nd, 2015 in Spokane, Washington at the Grand Hotel. e

Center for Education Diplomacy at Association for Childhood Education International

Every person deserves a strong start to life that supports the development of their full potential through every life stage. Education diplomacy supports comprehensive human development by promoting responsive systems and relationships both within the education sector and with related sectors as well, such as the health sector. The inter-connectivity supported by education diplomacy helps to secure sustainable futures for all.

The Center for Education Diplomacy is designed to provide a space for open discussion of this exciting concept. It's goals are to:

  1. Lead the development of the concept of education diplomacy
  2. Provide resources for organizations and individuals working to incorporate education diplomacy into their efforts
  3. Create a cadre of experienced education diplomats to further global education and development goals
