SAS is the most successful, evidence-based program of its kind in the world for children with Asperger’s Syndrome aged between 8 and 12.

Asperger’s Syndrome expert and SAS creator Dr Renae Beaumont will train practitioners in Brisbane on May 16 and 17; Melbourne on May 23 and 24; Sydney on June 3 and 4; Perth on June 12 and 13; and Adelaide on August 5 and 6.

The two-day course is aimed at psychologists, counsellors, speech pathologists, occupational therapists, teachers and school support staff who work with children on the autism spectrum.

Amaze (Autism Victoria) is celebrating World Autism Awareness Day

WAAD

Sunday 7 April. And with an awareness walk in Melbourne followed by fun and activities in Birrarung Marr.

Wear blue!

The walk leaves Alexandra Gardens (behind the boathouses) at 2pm and we are asking everyone to wear something blue. ASD awareness flags and T-shirts will be available to purchase at the start.

The walk is just 1.2km and suitable for everyone, including strollers and wheelchairs – there are no steps and no roads to cross, and our volunteer marshals will guide participants.

We cross the river and walk to Birrarung Marr where there will be lots of fun – starting with a countdown and a dove release. Activities will include trampolines, a jumping castle, petting zoo and face-painting – an activity pass will cost $8 per person and will allow access to all activities with funds going to Amaze.

Win a Springfree trampoline!

Anyone who purchases an activity pass will have the chance to win a Springfree Trampoline valued at almost $1000.

The Lions will be providing a sausage sizzle and other food and drinks will be available to purchase. There will be information booths for a range of services for the ASD Community.

This will be a day for all individuals with ASD and their families, friends and supporters to gather, share time together, have some fun and enjoy an atmosphere of understanding and support.

Come along and join in the fun!

Website: Finding a complementary therapist

Sian Davies writes: We promote on our website the benefits of complementary therapy and aim to give visitors all the information they need to help them make an informed decision about whether therapy would be right for them.

The website has an FAQ's section, a number of useful articles written by our members and the facility to search for a practitioner in your area.

To ensure the professionalism of our website, all listed therapists have provided us with qualifications and insurance cover or proof of membership with a professional body.
