NB, the sight loss magazine for professionals is now free

 

NB, the magazine for professionals working with people with sight loss, is being re-launched and will now available for free.  

NB is a bimonthly magazine  for eye health and sight loss professionals published by the charity Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB). 

The magazine gives professionals up to date information on the latest research, treatments and news that helps them support people at the point of diagnosis and when coping with sight loss. 

Regular features will focus on shared practice and interviews with people working in the field, plus careers advice and job vacancies for professionals looking to move into eye health.

LA Teacher's Union passes resolution to ensure safety from hazardous electromagnetic fields (EMF) in schools . . . including EMF Emissions from Wireless Technology

Peter Limbrick writes: This news item is offered as important reading for parents, young people, school governors and school staff in the UK.

"United Teachers Los Angeles (UTLA), representing over 40,000 teachers and other workers in LAUSD, passed the following motion by a sweeping majority:  

"Health and Human Services Committee 3-6-13 #1: Moved by Kevin Mottus, seconded by John Cabrera.

"I move that UTLA will abide by current National NEA Policy for Environmentally Safe Schools which states that all employees and stakeholders should be informed when there are changes in their exposure to environmental hazards including electromagnetic radiation and that all stakeholders and the public should be notified of any actual and potential hazards.

UTLA will advocate for technological solutions that maintain technology upgrades while not increasing employees exposure to electromagnetic radiation. . .

Spend a day with the animals at the Scope Family Fun Day – Invitation from Scope Victoria, Aus

The annual Scope Family Fun Day will be held at the Collingwood Children’s Farm on Saturday 23rd March.

 

 

Activities and entertainment on the day will include games, tractor rides, food stalls, pony rides, and everything the Collingwood Children’s Farm has to offer.

 

 

The day will be a fantastic opportunity to explore Collingwood Children’s Farm while supporting people with a disability.

 

What: Scope Family Fun Day will be a fantastic day for families, with activities and entertainment to entertain all.

 

When: Saturday, 23rd March 2013, 10am-2pm.

 

Where: Collingwood Children’s Farm, 18 St Heliers Street, Abbotsford
