The Act begins by defining the primary responsibility of local authorities as the promotion of individual wellbeing. There is a shift from the duty to provide services to meeting needs.

This is a new book designed to be used with Gypsy and Traveller children to help them to understand what death means, what we do and how we feel when someone dies. Written by Carol Rogers, (Senior lecturer, Buckinghamshire New University), the book arose from a project looking at the impact of bereavement in Gypsy and Traveller families.
The community identified that children needed more emotional support following bereavement.
