The Dixon Method
Hilary Dixon
Over many years I have trained a wide range of professionals and others to feel confident and competent to provide support and education around sexuality, sexual health and relationships for people with learning disabilities. This article describes the way I work, why I work in this way and the models and theories that underpin my method. It is based on a speech I gave at the Università degli Studi di Verona, Italy, in May 2009 at an International Conference entitled 'Disability and Sexuality – Rights, Needs and Opportunities'.
