64. Islamic Help - reaching people in need
Fundamental to health and wellbeing are clean safe water, nutrition, education and adequate shelter. The provision of health care is also fundamental and Islamic Help works in various parts of the world to ensure that the health care needs of those it serves are adequately met.
Following major disasters the need for health care provision is obviously acute and Islamic Help has partnered with various other providers to ensure that health care provision forms an important aspect of the support provided to survivors.
The children of Syria, forced with their families to flee the conflict tearing apart their homeland seek refuge in neighbouring Jordan. A 'normal' life for these youngsters now means shelter in a refugee camp and a struggle for the basic necessities of life. Islamic Help, through the generosity of its supporters, has supplied food and water for these children, plus books and Eid presents to bring a bit of joy into their lives.
