Two Paediatric Neuropsychology Courses (UK) - Introduction to Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience & Professional Issues in Paediatric Neuropsychology
Course 1: Introduction to Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience, 29 September – 3 October 2014. Delegates are given an engaging introduction to functional neuroanatomy via four interactive lectures and two half-day practical sessions in the neuroanatomy laboratories; one with human wet brains and one with plastic brains.
Delegates are also introduced to the fundamental principles behind a range of methodologies for studying brain-behaviour development including neuroimaging, electrophysiology and genetic techniques.
Course 2: Professional Issues in Paediatric Neuropsychology, 6 – 10 October 2014
Delegates are introduced to neuropsychological work and disorders in a range of professional contexts including:
- Paediatric neuropsychology in community settings.
- Paediatric neuropsychology in learning disabilities settings.
- Paediatric neuropsychology in CAMHS
- Paediatric neuropsychology in medico-legal work
- Paediatric neuropsychology in Specialised NHS Neuroscience Centres
- Paediatric neuropsychology in forensic settings
- Paediatric neuropsychology in the private sector
- Paediatric neuropsychology in educational settings
- Paediatric neuropsychology in neurometabolic services
- Paediatric neuropsychology in specialised residential rehabilitation settings
- Using single case designs for rehabilitation in different paediatric settings
