Developing a Core Outcome Set (COS) of infant feeding outcomes for assessing interventions including children up to 1 year old – can you help with this?

What, when and how parents feed their infants can have an impact on children’s risk of being overweight or obese. Currently, different studies looking at programs or interventions to prevent childhood obesity often measure different outcomes. This makes it difficult to compare how effective these interventions or programs are.

The aim of this study is to develop a Core Outcome Set (COS) of infant feeding outcomes for assessing interventions including children up to 1 year old. This will help to improve efforts to prevent childhood obesity. An infant feeding COS is an agreed and standardised set of outcomes that are relevant to health professionals, parents and researchers. Healthcare professionals and researchers can provide essential expert information about infant feeding and your contribution to developing this COS is invaluable.

We are asking you to participate in this study by completing the survey in the link below. The survey takes about 15 minutes to complete. You will be asked to complete this survey 3 times in total. You will be emailed reminders to complete Round 2 at the beginning of December, and Round 3 at the end of January. This helps us achieve agreement on what outcomes are most important.

If you are interested in taking part please go to the COS IF survey here: https://ctrc.liv.ac.uk/DelphiManager/COSIF/Delphi

We would also appreciate if you can forward this information on to any colleagues or contacts who may be interested in this taking part in this research
